FireflyTalk is having their second contest, and they’re not skimping on the prizes. First prize is either a metal Reaver short sword from The Prop Store of London or an artist’s proof of Mal’s pistol from Quantum Mechanix (winner’s choice, the remaining one goes to the second prize winner).

Other prizes include diferent versions of the Alliance money packs from QMx (including a unique gold-leaf set), a signed “Bound by Law” poster from Serenity graphic designer Geoff Mandel, and more!

The folks at The Sonic Society, expounders of the popular Firefly fanfic radio serial, have been told they need a T-shirt. But they’re not quite up to the task of designing one — they’re not very visual, you see — and they’re asking for help.

Submit the winning entry and you’ll get a copy of the shirt, a CD containing the Firefly “Old Wounds” plays and the scripts, and a copy of “The Shadowland Theatre Scripts.” Deadline is Wednesday, February 28th. Get going, radioland!

OK, it’s not specifically Firefly related, but there’s always tons of versy stuff at the San Diego Comic Con, one of the hugest and busiest comic conventions around. And now you can go for free, maybe!

Things From Another World is giving away two tickets, with accomodations, for next year’s event. You get round-trip airfare for two from any location in the continental US to San Diego, California, hotel accommodations for two, and two SDCC entry tickets. All you have to do to enter is to sign up for their newsletter, and since they’ve been offering some great deals on Serenity items lately that ain’t a bad thing.

Winners will be chosen from the list of valid subscribers, so if you’re already signed up you should be good to go. You can find more information about the con here; no Firefly cast members listed at the moment, but keep checking back.

Announced at FireflyFans.net (after the details were hammered out in several other threads… I love the Internet), you are being asked to produce your own Firefly episode trailer. How would you advertise one of the shows to get people interested?

“One important caveat: these would NOT be music videos. Text frames and episode video with snippets of dialogue would be used together to introduce the storylines in an intriguing fashion. Think in terms of the episode teasers that FOX aired for the series, only…um…these would be better. Not only better, also without the irritating announcer voiceover.”

Booster Events, the shiny people who hold those huge ‘verse-based events, is kicking off a month of weekly contests in July. Here’s the skinny:
