New Serenity comic at Dark Horse Presents, for free

OK, this kinda came out of the blue… This month’s “Dark Horse Presents” over at MySpace has an 8-page stand-alone Serenity story in it called “Serenity: The Other Half,” with art by WIll Conrad. It’s written by Jim Krueger, the man who (according to Joss) will be writing the Book miniseries coming out next.

Well THAT was boring.
Hope the Book story’s done a bit better… :/

Is there any way to download it?

Many thanks indeed for the heads up on that, I enjoyed it - it wasn’t *that* bad was it, TVChick?

It was okay, but I felt as though I was dropped into the middle of a story. Had to go back & read it twice. However, I am glad to see that Serenity/Firefly is continuing. :)

Not bad… Just a short story.
Nothing I’d've paid money for, but worth the read for free :)

Yay, a new story! …a story of how River was welcomed to the crew. Again.
It was done much better the first two times.

And when exactly did the Reavers go from unstoppable force to cannon fodder? And… oh, I’ll stop now. But I’ll go further than TVChick; this wasn’t just boring, it actively sucked.

Well, it was interesting. There are about 3 things wrong with it in my oppinion.
1.Reavers need to stop being used as a plot device. They are suppose to be a meanace that is like the boogy man, know one knows if they even exist, and then they are like everywhere that the crew goes? What’s up with that?
2. Hasn’t River and Simon been welcomed to the crew like every episode? Then in Serenity Mal was like ” You guys are only part of the crew if I say so and River has to earn her keep” ( not exact but…_) and it this they are all like welcome to the crew? What?
3. It isn’t really that well written. I had to read it a couple times because I was really confused.
I really wish they had a downloadable copy or were going to release it in stores or something, because it is really hard to read comics online. I also want the Captain Hammer one released in and actual comic.
It was okay to read but not good.

I enjoyed this one. Though brief, it had just enough elements to explain what was going on.
I loved the artwork. I feel that the artist did a great job capturing the BDH’s likenesses.
I for one am tickled whenever we get anything new for the Sereni-verse. Shows us that the powers that be are still paying attention to us.

It was deja vu all over again. They were being chased by reavers in the movie, Serenity. Not much new here other than Mal seems to accept River and Simon on his crew. Oh…and Wash is suddenly resurrected from the dead.
