New at The Prop Store of London - the jumpsuit and funky shirt ensemble that Kaylee wore in “Serenity.”

A costume worn by Kaylee (Jewel Staite) in the sci-fi adventure Serenity. Kaylee can be seen wearing this costume in several scenes including onboard Serenity. It consists of a khaki coloured jumpsuit that has been customised with it’s sleeves cut off, embroidery on the legs and lace detailing on the knees and a long sleeved, brightly patterned top and a pair of red, grey and black training shoes. All pieces are labelled inside with the characters name. The leather cuff is labelled ‘Kaylee Dbl.’

Tools, engine parts, catalyzer, bits of dead Reaver, and dread battery-operated devices sold separately.

OK, it’s not even remotely Serenity-related (aside from the Joss connection… oh, and Badger’s there now, does that count?) but you can win one of the coveted Dollhouse posters from the San Diego Comic-Con by being the person who refers to most new members to the Dollhouse TV Forum site.

Original art from the 8-page Serenity minicomic that’s now online at Dark Horse Presents on MySpace is now on sale at eBay from artist Will Conrad.

This action packed and fast paced story was drawn exclusively to the MYSPACE DARK HORSE PRESENTS and brings our most beloved group of space cowboys in a thrilling adventure when they try to deliver a very delicate cargo: a wounded passenger. The originals are on 11″x17″ art board and, since Will does full and detailed pencils, will look great framed on your wall. You also can have the artwork signed by the artist upon request.

Remember the Serenity 2008 patch set I mentioned a while ago? TFAW has it for sale! And still doesn’t have descriptions or any pictures of any of the four patches in the set except the one.

“Collect four patches as seen in Joss Whedon’s sci-fi epic, Serenity, with this patch set!”

Which is well and good but we don’t get to see which patches or what sizes, making it kinda hard to tell if it’s a good deal or not. However, I did some poking around and found that Forbidden Planet is selling four individual patches, including the one shown at TFAW, so if I had to guess I’d say these are what you’d be getting:

Still no descriptions or sizes, but at least we have pictures. Please note that I do not know for certain these are in the set at TFAW - although I’ll try to verify it - so buyers beware.

Jayne hoodies are here!

Or, rather, here, at AbbyShot. After putting the question to the Browncoats - that question being, do you want a hoodie that looks like Jayne’s hat, the overwhelming answer was yes.

This high-quality fleece hoodie has the same colour pattern as the knit hat Ma Cobb made for her ‘dear boy’. It’s a unisex design that looks good on ‘Jaynes’ or ‘Janes’! It even comes complete with a stylin’ pom-pom on the hood. For an additional bit of shininess we’ve printed Jayne’s dragon tattoo on the left shoulder of the sweater!

I don’t mind telling you, I love stuff like this. Original items that pay homage to versy things with creativity and style, while piquing the interest of newcomers and delighting any Browncoat who sees you and says “Wha…?”

The Browncoat Ball is a traveling event, one that started in Chicago in 2004 and went on the next years to San Fransisco, Pennsylvania, and now it’s come to Texas which just happens to have an awful lot of talented Browncoats.

Running October 10-12 in Austin, TX, the Ball this year is crammed with events full of Bad Guy training (knife-throwing, fight choreography, and weapons of the ‘Verse), Signal training (filking, how to podcast, how to make fan videos) and even Companion training (Tai Chi, MahJong, and Bellydancing). There’s tours of Earth-That-Was, plus lots of partying, crafts, singing, dancing, palm-reading, and performances from both the Bedlam Bards and the Brobdingnagian Bards as well as a string quartet for those moves that Mal knows.

And if you register before August 15, you’ll be entered to win tickets to Creation Entertainment’s SALUTE TO FIREFLY and SERENITY: A Celebration for Fans. Two tickets will be awarded to the raffle winner, with a total value of almost $700.

I’m sorry I didn’t notice this until now, but famed filker Tom Smith (”Waking Up Jedi,” “Talk Like a Pirate Day”, many many more) had an accident during a concert some time ago and had to have surgery. He’s out and home now, but filkers don’t generally have really good health insurance and every little bit helps.

Tom has been a regular presence at zillions of cons across the nation, he produces new and hilarious songs every week or so (when he’s feeling better), and he even lets you have many of them for free at his site and in his weekly RSS feed. Such as, say, his song “I’m on Firefly.”

So some of his friends and fans have put together a tribute CD of covers of his songs, which you can download for any donation at all. There’s some great stuff here, not the least of which is Browncoat favorite Michelle Dockrey (and Tony Fabris) performing Tom’s award-winning “Rich Fantasy Lives.” I strongly urge you to send him anything you can and enjoy some great, funny, touching music.

OK, this kinda came out of the blue… This month’s “Dark Horse Presents” over at MySpace has an 8-page stand-alone Serenity story in it called “Serenity: The Other Half,” with art by WIll Conrad. It’s written by Jim Krueger, the man who (according to Joss) will be writing the Book miniseries coming out next.

Then there’s a “Serenity” DVD signed by Alan Tudyk, Nathan Fillion, Ron Glass, Adam Baldwin, Jewel Staite and Morena Baccarin. This is in the Australian collector’s tin, but the listing doesn’t say what region the DVD is.

And a trade paperback of “Serenity” Those Left Behind,” signed by Nathan Fillion.

The Serenity Collectors’ edition is on sale for $9.99 at Amazon and at  Best Buy! Right after the Firefly sale, this is a good week for Browncoats.
