'Zoe's Revenge' statue cancelled

dst_zoestatue.jpg"Zoe's Revenge," the latest in Diamond Select's series of Serenity statues, isn't gonna be jumping over your crates any time soon. "That statue was cancelled due to lack of retailer interest," according to Diamond Select marketing man Micheal Leavey.

Fan response to the previous statues of River and Inara was less than stellar, so I can't say this is a surprise, but it is sad to realize that we have even less of a chance for action-figure-sized versions of the rest of the crew. At least for now.

It's a shame there won't be a set now, but as to this piece itself – I have to say, with the greatest of respect, that the face looks more Jocelyn Wildenstein than Zoe…

This is sad news, however the Zoe statue looked terrible and the fact that she is in the same stance as Inara is dumb. Why not make it with her on top of and stabbing a Reaver? THAT one I would have purchased.

Can't say I'm disappointed cos these things really didn't look great.

Way out there unrealistic thought for the end of a long Friday: I wish McFarlane Toys would do the crew.

Don't expect to produce anything and then expect us Browncoats to blindly buy it.

In my opinion, none of these statues, save for maaaaaybe the River one, should have seen the light of day. We browncoats are a formidable buying force, snapping up nearly everything placed in our path, but it has to be quality and it has to remind us of what we love about the show, whether it be "feel" or characters or story.

There have been a few blatant attempts to sell the browncoats poor and/or overpriced stuff lately, and I think it's safe to say we're getting tired of it. We can tell if you put in the effort or are just after our wallets, thank you very much.

Actually, I like the previous statues, and would have bought the whole set–though I agree a pose different than the Inara statue would have been better. Based on the three items, I could imagine a diarama of that climactic battle seen with all the characters (though the possibility of a Wash statue to complete the set–one with a harpoon in his chest–would be one even I would not have bought). >wince
