Firefly DVDs in Blu-ray?
Spotted at Amazon: a listing for a Blu-ray edition of the Firefly DVDs.
It’s notable that there is no price, ship date, cover image or actual information available, so this is very probably Amazon being careful. But there is a place where you can ask to be notified when such a thing is available, and it might be interesting if they suddenly had a few hundred thousand people ask for it, don’t you think?

I’ve just signed up to recieve alerts when they become available. I won’t get it; I don’t have a blu-ray player, but every little helps, right?

And I’ve submitted it to slashdot, so I’m sorry if the site gets slashdotted.

No! I don’t want blu-ray, I want HD-DVD. Serenity is already on HD-DVD, and if the series gets ported to blu-ray I’ll be so torn. >_

This just may be the cynic in me, but the lack of detail is a bit of a worry. Is this just a repackaging of the DVD format, or do we get actual HD quality? If it’s the latter, that alone would sell me on investing in a Blu-Ray player.

This will be worth waiting for! I always wished Serenity was on Blu-Ray. I’ve watched both formats on my Plasma I think Blu is superior. I will put in my notification request right away.

This would excite me if I weren’t boycotting Sony.
Also though, and I might be way off about this, but Firefly always seemed a little grainy, even on DVD. I mean, beautiful lighting and what not, but grainy, like they were using not very high quality digital cameras to shoot it or something. Will it even transfer to hi-def well?
