QMx just announced that for the next two weeks (Dec. 15 - Dec. 31) all U.S. shipping will be $1, and all international shipping will be $5. Get your holiday shopping in quick!
And good news for overseas folks - now they can ship Mal stunt pistols overseas!
Head on over to QMx and get clicking.

New tees at Stylin’ Online - the Serenity Group tee, showing our BDH’s in movie poses, and the Jayne strip tee we saw previously in the baby doll size, now available in regular shirt sizes. Stylin Online continues to carry the widest selection of Firefly and Serenity tees anywhere, and I understand a major gift-giving holiday is coming up…

Sorry for the delay in reporting. I’ve been recuperating from being, in QuoterGal’s perfect phrase, “blissed out.”
So. When last we left our hero, he was taking off for Los Angeles to attend Mutant Enemy Day when fans from the four corners of the globe would be gathering to show their support for the writers’ strike by marching along with writers and actors from Mutant Enemy, Joss Whedon’s former TV production company. Oh, and some Joss fellow.
The flight was uneventful, aside from the med student in the seat next to me who spent the time studying descriptions and full color images of surgeries and some extremely unfortunate man with a rather spectacular genital-based disorder.
SPOILERS!
During last week’s Browncoat Cruise, Ron Glass said Joss had given the OK for him to reveal some tidbits about Book. As follows:
1. There will be a Dark Horse Comic released next year about Book called The Shepherd’s Tale
2. A part of Shepherd Book is artificial
3. He found God in a bowl of soup
4. Book is best known for his greatest failure
5. “Derrial” is not his real name. He took that name from a man he killed.
No other details on the comic available so far, but keep checking back.
Better let QMx know. They’re asking folks to take a survey on whether or not they’d like a stand for their Mal pistol, and how much they’d be willing to pay:
Last month we asked what you thought of QMx coming out with a holster for the Mal pistol. This month, we’ve decided to come back with another question: Would you like a lucite stand for the self-same Mal pistol?
The stand consists of three components: a black lucite base measuring 16.5″ x 4″ and two clear lucite risers - the front one measuring 5.25″ x 2″, the rear one measuring 4″ x 2″. The crystal risers give the pistol a floating effect and ensure no part of the pistol touches the base.
Click here to take the survey and let ‘em know.

The licensed Mal resin mini-bust from Razor’s Edge Collectibles is now also available for preorder from TFAW.com (handy if you plan to buy anything else from them and combine orders).
Sculpted by Gentle Giant, made by Diamond, this little captain is in 1/6 scale and is 6″ tall. Only 1,000 will be made and sales are limited to two per household, $50 each.

According to the e-mail notice I just received from TFAW.com, the “Inara Strikes” statue from Diamond Select has been postponed to Dec. 19. Which means there’s still time to preorder it and get 20% off the $99 retail price.
This is the second Serenity statue from Diamond Select, following their “River Triumphant” statue due out soon. 7″ tall and to scale with the Serenity action figures, this sculpt is by Michael Norman and can be removed from the base. Limited to 1000 pieces.
See what I miss when I go away? The first issue of “Better Days,” the next Serenity comic miniseries, is now available for preorder. It’ll be out in March. Like the first series, “Those Left Behind,” it’s written by Joss Whedon and Brett Matthews and drawn by Will Conrad, but this time big time Browncoat and fan-favorite comic artist Adam Hughes will be doing covers.
Better Days revisits everyone’s favorite space cowboys in this thrilling, action-packed adventure, with Mal and his crew on a heist that promises a big payoff–what’s surprising is that this heist just might make good on that promise.
Due out March 12. 40 pages (!).
Also, word is that Ron Glass shared some upcoming Book-related comic news while on the Browncoat Cruise last week. Once I find out if it’s OK to share, I’ll fill you in. Just start saying “oh boy oh boy oh boy” now and get ready.
Gonna have to wait for tomorrow for a detailed description of the day - not near a computer for long enough - but you can see my photos of the strike here - http://flickr.com/photos/cabridges/sets/72157603406521671/
More to come!
