With help from Dark Horse and eBay, Joss Whedon is doing his own fund-raising for Equality Now by auctioning off a sit-down dinner with himself. Well, he is the ultimate collectible…
Bid to win a place at quasi-celebrity Joss Whedon’s private dinner! This Comic-Con weekend, Joss will take five winning bidders to a swank San Diego restaurant for drinks and dinner in a private room. Three hours of intimate conversation, hilarious anecdotes and dark, awkwardly personal secrets. (Not to mention a little swag.) It’s a fan experience like no other, to benefit Equality Now. Any subject you like is on the menu (not the actual menu; that’ll probably just have food). For three hours, Joss gets to be your biggest fan.
The auction runs from July 2 to July 12. Dark Horse editor Scott Allie announced it after the CSTS screening and Joss talked about it a bit in this CBR interview. Start saving your pennies now, kids, you know this won’t go cheaply. Nor should it. There will also be other items auctioned off; Buffy crew watches, signed Buffy lithographs, autographed hardcover “Those Left Behind” collections, and more.

Is there a clause in the auction forbidding any of the winners from asking him when there will be a sequel to Serenity or why he creates such strong female characters?
