Come closer, baby

And I will give you one last
Kiss goodnight
Steal your ship away and
Leave you to die

“Our Mrs. Reynolds”
Words by Joss Whedon and Rob Kuhlman
Music by Rob Kuhlman
Guitar, mandolin and vocals: Rob Kuhlman
Fiddle: Randy Smith
(Listen to it here)

She was a little antiquated. A little underrated.
She’s from that dumb planet Triumph.
She’s all kinds of pleasing. She’ll wash your feet then,
Tell the boys that girl’s a wonder she gets it done.

Saffron Original - Never Did Catch Her Name by Marian Call

Saturday, June 30th, 2007

“Never Did Catch Her Name (But She’s My Wife)”
by Marian Call
(Listen to it here)

Well, she caught my eye on Daedelus
And I couldn’t look away
Imagine my surprise when she told me
That she felt the same way
That night she promised she’d be mine
And she swept me off my feet
And for eighteen golden hours there
My rapture was complete

Saffron Filk - Tales of a Traveling Minx by Heather Ackroyd

“Tales of a Travelling Minx”
(to the tune of “Twiddles” by Janie Meneely)
Lyrics by: C. David Dent
Sung by: Heather Ackroyd and C. David Dent
(Listen to it here)

When you’re young and when you’re pretty and you’re out here on the rim,
There are those who’ll tell you straight up that your future’s kinda grim.
But if you know a thing or two about what makes men tick
You can do a fairly decent job of making cash right quick.

CHORUS:
And it’s marry ’em, dump ’em, move along and find another man.
You’ve got to get to robbin’ just as many as you can.
And it’s marry ’em, dump ’em, move along and find another man.
You’ll never get ahead out here just sittin’ on your can.

“Someday”
(to the tune of “One Way or Another” by Blondie)
by Ziv Gur-Arye

Someday in the future, I’m gonna rob ya,
I’m gonna loot ya loot ya loot ya loot ya
Someday in the future, I’m gonna trick ya
I’m gonna con ya, con ya, con ya, con ya
Someday in the future, I’m gonna school ya
I’m gonna fool ya, fool ya, fool ya, fool ya
Someday, maybe next week,
I’m gonna teach ya, I’m gonna teach ya, I’ll teach ya

Saffron Filk - Player by Ziv Gur-Arye

“Player”
(to the tune of “Dentist!” from “Little Shop of Horrors”)
by Ziv Gur-Arye

When I was younger, just a brat girl then
My momma noticed my effect on men
Like getting straight A’s just by wearing short skirts
Or get the boys do all of my chores
I’d go shopping, though I never paid
And so my momma said (what did she say?)
She said: my girl, I hope someday,
You’ll stop your play,
And find a husband that our bills will pay

Saffron Filk - Yo-Saf-Bridge by Ying

“Yo-Saf-Bridge”
(to the tune of “Rosanna” by Toto)
by Ying

All is fraud and ruse, you create another meaning for “cheating wife”
Yo-Saf-Bridge, Yo-Saf-Bridge
I tied the knot ’cause you gave me hooch and had me wear a tree, Yo-Saf-Bridge?

All is fraud and ruse, so articulate on needing your bridal night
Yo-Saf-Bridge, Yo-Saf-Bridge
The dirty-low-downest hoodwink for scoring my SereniTYYY!

CHORUS:
Sure ain’t a peer of that gun of Jayne’s, Yo-Saf-Bridge yeah
Might be hot, but you’re more insane
Keep that mouth away, keep that mouth away, Yo-Saf-Bridge yeah
Keep that mouth away, keep that mouth away, Yo-Saf-Bridge yeah

Saffron Filk - Devil Woman by Heather Daniel

“Devil Woman”
(to the tune of “Evil Woman” by ELO)
by Heather Daniel

You made a fool of me
But Inara got you in the end

Hey woman, you married me
Preacher told me how it came to be
I got a hat and a drink from you
Then we had a dance and the deed was through
You were in my room with your seduction bright
And then I got my kiss good-night
Ha ha Saffron, nearly got my ship
But Jayne won the day with only a clip.

Limited edition Comic Con exclusive Browncoat mugs

Friday, June 29th, 2007

cc_mugs.jpgOnce again Browncoats step up for charity with cool stuff. This time we’re talking exclusive mugs available only at the San Diego Comic Con from the California Browncoats booth July 26 - 28. The Cali heroes are teamed up with Mark “Badger” Sheppard to benefit St. Judes Children’s Hospital by, among other things, offering these two limited edition mugs with 11th Hour’s Serenity design and Sue Regonini’s clasic Browncoats logo. There will be 500 of each available, hand-numbered, with a letter of authenticity. And if you buy one, you get entered into a special Thank You drawing. Considering the amazing stuff they’ve had in the past, you know this oughtta be good.

Mugs are $10 each and all proceeds go to the hospital. You’ll be able to pre-order soon from the California Browncoats site (and preordering gets you a higher number). At the con they’ll be at booths A7 and A8 in the dealers room. Don’t miss out!

“Lies & Pretend”
(to the tune of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”
by Ziv Gur-Arye

Some girls will step-all over your heart
And though you’d say it’s cruel
Honey I just-don’t give a crap
As long as my pockets are full
