Washtown is growing, and it needs a new mayor (ahem)

Since Washtown bought the land next door a few months ago, Browncoats in the virtual 3D world Second Life have whomped up a brand new town. The Firefly ship (the “Raven”) has been moved to the new space port, there are streets laid out, we have a new saloon (the “Fruity Oaty Bar”) and a newspaper (The Washtown Wave), a brothel and a restaurant and a clinic and a monastery… Washtown is growing fast.
And we’re going to have an election, for mayor. I am announcing my candidacy.
I would make an excellent virtual mayor.
I’m a resident of Washtown, and a businessman of good standing with strong roots in the community. I have built several of the buildings there, and helped lay out the roadways for the new town.
I have also brought in lots of tourists, through this site and others, lifeblood for a small town. And I’ll work to expand Washtown into a township to be proud of, a cosy haven for passing ships and wandering Browncoats, without losing the smalltown feel we love so well. I’ll help to keep griefers and other uninvited lowlifes — as opposed to our occasionally lowlife residents, who are all welcome and treasured — away from our homes. And I will work to rebuild the lamented Hoban Saloon, recently devastated by what some are calling a Reaver attack. I foresee that location becoming our new town hall (with the current owner’s consent, of course).
And I would like to reach out to our neighbors, the mudflats of Canton, in the spirit of friendship, shared interests, and lucrative mud trade agreements.
I’ll announce the election date when the sim owners decide on it, but for now if you’re a Washtown resident — and if not, why aren’t you? — remember to vote Fanwood for Mayor. Free t-shirts and election posters are available at my Washtown shop Big Red Button.

Wow, I definitely need to check out Washtown when I get the chance! Sounds like it’s coming along nicely. And congrats on the running! When’s the voting?

I might have to give Second Life a try just so I can vote for this poor fella. I mean, anyone who’s folks saddle him with a name like “Cabridges” needs whatever support he can get from ‘verse residents. Especially if their family name is “Fanwood”.
