Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

According to the Ariel Ambulance Rescue Yahoo group, the money needed to buy the abandoned ambulence prop seen in the episode “Ariel” from the scrap yard where it was discovered has been raised thanks to an anonymous donor. Thanks, whoever you are!

Check the group for more details on what’s going to happen when now that the rescue can move forward.

Earn coin at SerenityMovie.org

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

Much like the points system from the official SerenityMovie site it replaced, SerenityMovie.org is now allowing members to build up quantities of coin to be exchanged later for… well, we don’t know yet. But gossi has never failed us yet when it comes to Serenity stuff.

A definitive points system has not yet been posted, but so far it looks as if you get coin for posting in the forums and 1,000 for referring someone to sign up using the “Tell a friend” button at the bottom of the main page. You can also get 3 coins for posting in the forums, and there will be challenges for more earnings. You do the job, you get paid.

There are also crews, again. And fan fiction and news about merchandise and cleavage and more. If you haven’t been going to the serenitymovie.org forums, now’s a good time to start.

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

namebrand has posted an offer at serenitymovie.org for replicas of the name badges the BDHs used to sneak into the hospital on Ariel, at cost. But first he needs to make sure there’s enough interest, and he needs to hear from you. Read on for details:

A tea set and a Companion dress

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

prop_teaset.jpgNew from The Prop Store of London - a tea set from… I’m not sure. The galley? Inara’s rooms? The deleted dinner scene on Haven? Anyway, it’s a cool-loooking Chinese tea set that popped up somewhere.

Also, a dress from one of the Companions-in-training.

Crybaby Coffee Mug

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

cp_crybaby.jpg

crybabymug.jpgMake your mother sigh!

The latest thing from… well, me… this cobbled-together hunk of junk is ideal for holding your coffee, your pens, or for distracting your boss with a fake distress call so he won’t notice the incredible amount of work you’re not doing. Just got mine in the mail and I’m happy.

Patterned after the one in the pilot episode, it’s sturdy and solid and, unlike the original crybaby, it’s dishwasher safe. Available at Big Red Button.

A weapon, a dino, and clubbing clothes for Kaylee

Tuesday, April 18th, 2006

prop_kayleeclub.jpgJust up at The Prop Store of London — after a skipped day that frightened me — is another dino signed by Alan Tudyk, a Reaver weapon display, and the jacket and top worn by Kaylee at the Maidenhead Bar.

Nothing battery-powered, sorry.

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

If you’re following my fanfic — and of course you are — a new chapter has just been posted. Nathan’s trial is over and he’s been sentenced to a fate worse than death. Oh, and death.

Check it out at FanFiction.net, FireflyFans.net, or SerenityMovie.org.

ShinyShirts.net back up, briefly

Sunday, April 16th, 2006

ShinyShirts.net has resurfaced, with an apology and a plan to refund/complete all outstanding orders.

“Guys, first off, I’m sorry.  As has been pretty obvious for a little while now, Shiny Shirts is officially closed.  SS.net grew way faster than I was able to keep up with, some Real Life happened, some medical stuff happened, and in the end I had the lovely little breakdown.  Which isn’t an excuse, but still.  The very least I can do for you guys is try to explain.”

Currently there is a list of customers with outstanding orders posted. Button supplies are stil available so button orders will be filled, everyone else will be getting refunds. She’ll also be appearing at conventions (there’s a list on the page).
