New at Thge Prop Store of London: a Chinese book usefrom Inara’s room and the scrfewdriver that Mal used to fight the Operative. 

Which is actually three screwdrivers; a detailed “hero” one for closeups, a “stunt” screwdriver made of plastic and rubber, and one that’s somewhere in the middle. You gotta love a job that requires a “stunt” screwdriver.

Want a soft, squeezable hero to call your own? You gotta check out Custom Rag Dolls by Lily. She’s working on creating dolls that resemble “certain characters from a certain show that’s not on anymore,” and they look great.

There’s the Mercenary (pictured), complete with cunning hat and boots, there’s the Mechanic in her jumpsuit, and the Psychic in a pinafore, boots, and oversized sweater. There are gorgeously designed and make great gifts for Browncoat friends such as, well, you.

Adam at Black Market Beagles has added yet another Little Damn Hero to the mix: Inara! “Would you like to lecture me on the wickedness of my ways?”

Available on a wide array of shirts, mugs, notebooks, buttons, and more, Inara’s waiting for you all sultry like, with wiles. This makes eight out of nine, now we just need Simon. And a full crew version? Huh? Maybe? And, and, and the ship, and some supporting characters, and… Sorry. I’ll be good.

Not a wild weekend, but the latest Serenity props posted at The Prop Store of London.

You can get Inara’s brush set, used as set dressing, or a spiky Reaver ball weapon, or Jayne’s Haven outfit (yellow T-short with gun design, army pants). Buy them all and have a wild weekend anyway!

New at The Prop Store of London: Zoe’s red top and some sort of bizarre Reaver weapon that looks wholly impractical but pretty cool.

It’s listed as a “hero” prop, meaning this one got screen time, and it’s the first item I’ve seen here that has an age restriction for buyers (probably because this one, unlike most of the Reaver weapons, is metal and not rubber and could actually put a hurtin’ on someone).

Serenity is now on sale in France. It’s the European version, with the extra documentary but without the extended scenes or Q&A from the Australian version. Region 2, in French and English, with subtitles in French, Arabic, and Bulgarian.

Amazon.fr has also seen it fit to pair this off with The Dukes of Hazzard, for some reason. I’m trying to make that work, it’s just not coming.

The Prop Store of London has added two more items this morning: a screen seen on the desks of the students in River’s flashback (computer graphics not included) and  a dress worn by one of the Companions-in-training in the deleted Inara scenes.

Hard on the heels of my last flanfic, I’m starting another one. This is slightly more serious — no actors — and I’m setting my sights on a novel length. We’ll see if I make it.

“When the Devil Drives” begins soon after the events of the movie. Things are getting tougher for smugglers to make a honest day’s wage. Seems the Alliance is a mite peeved, for some reason…

“Damn straight.” Jayne stuck out his leg and planted his foot on top of the counter directly in front of Simon’s face. “Got kind of a cheese-ish texture, don’t it?” Simon spun around, gasping for breath and quickly turning the same color as the offending gunk. “One of them soft, oozy cheeses, like broo,” Jayne said happily.

“That’s brie,” Simon said, coughing. He lunged at his shelves and thrust a small bottle into Jayne’s hands. “Here. Rub this between your toes, coat it on thick, leave it on. Do it every day until this runs out.”

“Instead of washing?”

“After you clean your feet. Both of them. Every day.”

Jayne scowled. “I might have to get me a second opinion on that.”
