Serenity model in the works?

Friday, January 27th, 2006

serenity_modelplan.jpgThomas Models, a company known for its excellent line of Trek-type resin kits, model conversion kits, and accessories, is working on a model of our favorite ship. After working up a plan for “114 resin parts, 4 clear resin, 4 clear vac form, 185 photo-etched brass parts, plug n’ play animated drive lighting, and color decals in glorious 1/87 HO scale,” plans were later scaled back to 1/120 scale to make casting easier and the price more reasonable.

No new props… just kidding

Friday, January 27th, 2006

The Prop Store has added a parasol from the bank heist set, a ceramic pourer from Serenity’s galley, and a funky-looking Reaver saw weapon as seen in the final battle. Remember, for a limited time they have a smaller down payment requirement and a longer extended payment period.

The Prop Store extended their payment plan

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

Now it’s even easier to spend all my mon… I mean, spend all your money. From The Prop Store of London’s newsletter:

“To qualify for this special offer you need to select the payment plan option when ordering and place the words ‘Extended Payment Plan Offer’ in the comments section on our online order form for any order placed between 26th Jan - 9th Feb inclusive.”

There’s a minimum amount of £100 (about $180) to qualify for the extended plan.

Go to it, folks! Time to get that bloody sword you’ve always wanted for your breakfast nook!

More, more props

The Prop Store of London (I keep wanting to sing that to “The Werewolves of London”) now has a ceramic bowl from Serenity’s galley and an air cannister used as prop dressing in the cargo hold. Go for it!

It’s a new day, so… props

The Prop Store of London now has a plate from Serenity’s galley, an ornamental metal tube from Inara’a home (an incense holder, maybe?), and a spiked Reaver weapon.

Cinefacts.de was nice enough to collect links for the different versions (and the UMD version) so I’ll just point you there.

    Blue Moon Novelties

    Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

bluemoon.jpgBlue Moon Novelties has a selection of original shirts and hoodies that are well worth checking out. My favorites are the “Original Browncoat” (pictured) and the Mudder’s Milk design, but there are also designs for Jaynestown University, Blue Sun, Independents, and a cool TG Freight shirt (and laundry bag!)

Check the quantities; stuff sells out quickly. There’s also a Sale Page, where items are marked down pretty much at whim, and the occasional goodie package of an armload of merchandise at an excellent price. And you always get something extra tossed in the envelope. Very customer friendly, highly recommended.

    Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

Just posted an interview with Stephen Lane, buyer for The Prop Store of London where hundreds of props from the movie Serenity are popping up (you may have noticed). Check it out!
